A mysterious place with a colonial charm

The statue is located on a small island that is accessible by ferry. Visitors can climb up to the top of the statue and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding ocean.

The Padmanabhapuram Palace is a historical landmark in Kanyakumari. It is located about 20 kilometres from the town and was the seat of power of the Travancore Kingdom. The palace is known for its exquisite architecture, intricate wood carvings, and stunning gardens. Visitors can explore the palace and learn about the history of the Travancore Kingdom.

The Gandhi Memorial is another important attraction in Kanyakumari. It is dedicated to the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi, who visited the town in 1925. The memorial houses a small museum that showcases the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.

Apart from these attractions, Kanyakumari is also known for its unique culture and traditions. The town has a rich history of art and music, and visitors can witness traditional dance and music performances during the local festivals. The town is also famous for its seafood, especially the fresh catch of prawns and lobsters.

The best time to visit Kanyakumari is between October and March when the weather is pleasant and dry. However, the town can get crowded during the peak season, so it is advisable to plan ahead and book accommodation in advance.
